Posture and Mobility Classes at Noji Chiropractic & Wellness Centre

Vinyasa Flow Class:

Vinyasa Flow yoga emphasizes the sequential movement between postures, coordinated with and guided by deliberate breath. The Vinyasa practice becomes a moving meditation that creates strength, freedom and fluidity in the body and mind. As we ride the waves of breath in our yoga practice, we learn to ride the waves of change in our lives with more ease. This class moves from pose to pose with each held for no more than five to eight breaths. Expect a fully balanced class of forward bending, twists, backbends with opportunity for inversions.

Yin Yoga Class:

Yin yoga classes move at a slower pace with an emphasis on holding poses for time while finding stillness. We utilize props such as bolsters and blocks to help the body achieve support and appropriate depth within the pose. Yin postures stretch and relax the muscles, joints, ligaments, and fascia. Furthermore, a significant aspect of a yin yoga is the opportunity to achieve a meditative state while holding postures in stillness.

Spine & Mobility Series Class:

This class moves similar to a Vinyasa flow class with a focus on postures that activate, stretch and strengthen the spine. Expect postures that encourage dynamic stretching paring our movement.

Our Yoga Instructors

Carmen Letourneau

Carmen Letourneau is a local yoga teacher and movement coach as well as a pianist and music teacher. She completed 250 hour yoga teacher certification at Yoga Passage in Calgary in 2006. In 2019, she completed ELDOA training (level 1 and 2) in Montreal. ELDOA is a form of movement that uses held postures to put the body in fascial stretches designed to improve postural strength and spinal health.

Carmen’s interest in making yoga and natural movement accessible for many ages and shapes, including tight bodies, has informed her teaching style. In her classes, she creates a warm and compassionate space for people to make friends with their own body. Her unique practice combines yoga postures with other modalities including ELDOA, Pilates, natural movement, and myofascial release. Because each of her classes includes postural strength and mobility and breathing, you will experience an increased feeling of well-being after each class

Aisha Johnson

Aisha Johnson
My yoga journey began during the 2019 as a way to deal with stress and isolation. Since then, my curiosity of yoga has evolved into a daily practice. In 2022, eager to learn more about yoga I enrolled in training at the Agni Yoga School facilitated by Shonna Lamb and Kendall Bowes. I am a registered 200-hour teacher trained in Vinyasa, Yin, and Nidra.

I have a BA in social sciences, a loving husband, 3 sweet animals, and lots of plants at home. When I’m not practicing yoga, you can find me out in nature, listening to music, or reading a book. I strive to make my classes accessible to all, no matter the level of yoga experience. I hope to share the joy the practice of yoga can bring as I guide you through your practice.
